THE AFRI RESORT NON VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

UPDATED JUNE 20, 2026

SUBJ: NON VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT OF THE AFRI BAR RESORT

In October 2008, research published by the National Institutes of Health ("Are gay communities dying or just in transition?") highlighted a significant cultural shift across major cities, virtual gay communities had grown larger than offline physical communities. This digital migration has historically led to a steady decline in physical safe havens, marked by fewer dedicated bars, diminishing visibility, and the loss of historically gay-identified neighborhoods.

The Afri Bar, LLC and Village Resorts Hospitality Group, LLC are built to directly counter this trend.

We explicitly confirm that all properties owned, designed, and managed by our hospitality groups are strict brick-and-mortar developments. While we actively maintain an online presence and utilize digital platforms to share our project visions, updates, and concepts across the web, our destinations will never exist in the virtual space.

🛡️ Our Physical Mission and Purpose

The foundational purpose of The Afri Bar Resort is rooted in providing absolute safety. Homophobia, systemic stigma, and discrimination create real-world dangers for gay, bisexual, and same gender loving men and in recent years those particularly within the Black and African American community. These societal pressures often manifest physically as harassment, bullying, and violent assault.

Digital forums and virtual spaces are fundamentally incapable of offering physical protection or curing the isolation caused by these real-world threats.

Because of this, we have carefully engineered a tangible, real-world sanctuary. Our spaces are intentionally designed to foster:

  • True Social Activity: Promoting live, human interaction and genuine stimulation.

  • Uncompromised Safety: Cultivating a physical environment entirely free from fear, oppression, and judgment.

  • Elevated Hospitality: Blending traditional and modern architecture to create upscale, stylish, and upbeat environments for a gay clientele.

🚫 Firm Non-Virtual Policy

At no time do we intend, nor will we ever consider, operating infrastructure as a virtual, pop-up, online, or augmented reality destination.

Every planned building, lounge, entertainment center, and residential structure is designated solely for the physical world. We are building lasting, real-world real estate to give our community the physical space it rightfully deserves.

Though digital platforms are employed to disseminate updates about the development and engage with the public, the fundamental mission of the Afri Resort remains rooted in the tangible physical world. Every planned building, lounge, entertainment center, and residential structure is designated solely for the physical world. We are building lasting, real-world real estate to give our community the physical space it rightfully deserves.

Village Resorts Hospitality Group stands firm in its resolution against transitioning to a virtual model, a conscious reaction to the rising isolation experienced by many gay communities worldwide. Digital platforms simply cannot recreate the physical safety, bonding, and authentic experience offered in a real-world resort destination.

Thank you for your ongoing interest in and support of The Afri Bar.
